Four Continuing Churches Publish Joint Prayer Cycle

Parishes in all Continuing jurisdictions are encouraged to participate in the prayer cycle linked above.

As part of the preparations for the upcoming Continuing Church Joint Synods, the ACC, along with its three partner jurisdictions--the Anglican Church in America (ACA), the Anglican Province of America (APA), and the Diocese of the Holy Cross (DHC), will be participating in a joint prayer cycle. The four Church leaders approved this joint cycle with idea that spiritual preparation should go hand in hand with organizational processes.

To accomplish this task, they asked Father Erich Zwingert of All Saints Church in Mills River, North Carolina to compile a list of US parishes in each jurisdiction and assign them to Sundays between Lent I and Trinity XVI, when the synod will take place. The list, which is linked above, will be published on each jurisdiction's website.  It is hoped that the list will eventually form the basis for a common North American Continuing Church directory.

The leaders of four Continuing Anglican Churches have announced plans for Joint Synods to meet in Atlanta, Georgia, the week of October 2nd to 6th.  At the conclusion of the week it is the intention of the Churches to sign an agreement establishing full communion (communio in sacris) among the four bodies as well as a pledge to pursue in a determined and deliberate fashion increasingly full unity.

The Churches also will discuss common plans for mission and evangelism.  Each Church will hold its own mandatory business meetings and Synods, but the four will join together throughout for common worship and social occasions.
